Another month, another list of new features, and this one promises to be pretty interesting, since WhatsApp has released numerous new beta capabilities to everyone’s smartphones. While also teasing what other new features we may expect to see on the app later this year. So, with that stated, let’s take a look at all of the new WhatsApp features that were launched in March 2025.
New WhatsApp Features Added in March 2025 (Stable)
As previously stated, several very exciting new features were added to your favorite messaging app during the month of March. So without further ado, let us take a look at them.
1. Add Songs to Status Updates
Available on Android and iPhone
Yes, the feature is finally available! You may now include songs in status posts, just as you could on Instagram. Simply press the music icon at the top, search for any song in the enormous repertoire, select the piece you want to utilize, and share it in your WhatsApp status. This closes the gap between the two apps and makes the experience more similar to that of Instagram. The functionality is available for both the Android and iPhone versions of the app, so if you haven’t received it yet, update the app right away!
2. Redesigned Font and Color Selection Tool

WhatsApp has also upgraded its font and color choosing tool, which is relevant to status updates. We discussed it in our February feature list. It resolves a long-standing bug that required you to repeatedly press the font and color selections to cycle between them. Now that they are all spread out in front of you, it is easy to choose the one you wish to use.
3. WhatsApp Web Receives a Makeover

Along with the mobile version, WhatsApp Web received some much-needed attention in March. They changed the WhatsApp Web look, making it visually darker and more consistent with the WhatsApp app. Along with that, they modified some icons and other UI components. 4. Add Instagram Links to Bio

WhatsApp is making it easier for Instagram influencers to find their accounts on the platform. If you go to the app’s profile page now, you should find a new “Links” section where you may add your Instagram account. This way, your contacts may easily jump to your Instagram profile and follow you.
5. Create Profile Images with Meta AI
Available on Android and iPhone
WhatsApp will now allow you to use Meta AI to produce an image for your profile or group chat icon. To do this, navigate to Settings > Profile > your profile photo > pen symbol, and select Create AI Image. This new option allows you to unleash your imagination and add something unique to your profile photo.
6. View Once Photos on Linked Devices
Available on Android and iPhone
Another item we discussed in our February feature list is the ability to see “View Once” photographs on linked devices. This basic feature was restricted to linked devices, so you had to use your primary WhatsApp device instead. However, this restriction has recently been eliminated permanently.
7. Event Option for Individual WhatsApp Chats
Available on Android and iPhone
WhatsApp is also adding the Events feature to individual chats. This feature has been available for a while in group chats, but WhatsApp is also testing it in one-on-one talks. It is now open to everyone, allowing you to organize dates and events for them directly from the conversation.
