Daredevil: Born Again is quickly approaching its premiere date, and excitement for the forthcoming show is building. However, there is one small issue. The original Daredevil show premiered in 2015, and between the first and third seasons, a lot transpired outside of the show, introducing us to various characters from the same universe.
Now, some people may be put off by the concept of “there is a lot to watch before Daredevil: Born Again,” if for nothing else, because The Punisher is returning. However, given you are on this page, I am very confident you are a die-hard fan like me. So, here’s a comprehensive watch order for Daredevil and everything surrounding it!
Complete Daredevil Watch Order
Daredevil Season 1 was the first installment of the Defenders saga to air on Netflix. Following its debut, Jessica Jones was published, introducing Luke Cage, who eventually had his own series, followed by the introduction of The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2 and the release of Iron Fist.

Now I know the number of shows here is massive, and it’s kind of impossible to binge all of this before the Daredevil: Born Again. However, the silver lining here is that watching all of the above-mentioned shows is not strictly necessary before Daredevil: Born Again.
The only time it would be necessary is if you wanted to learn about all of the characters in Daredevil’s lore. Daredevil Season 1 introduces Jessica Jones; Jessica Jones Season 1 introduces Luke Cage; and Punisher Season 2 introduces The Punisher. However, if nothing else, I would urge that you watch The Defenders, which is the best show on this list after Daredevil and the Punisher.
The simple answer to that question is no, you don’t necessarily have to watch The Punisher before Daredevil: Born Again
