Following an explosion that allegedly caused “structural damage” to the building, Rockstar North, an Edinburgh-based developer of Grand Theft Auto 6, has roped off its offices. At approximately 5:02 AM local time on January 19, firefighters from Holyrood Road mobilized in the area as part of a significant emergency services response. As of this writing, authorities have not reported any fatalities or injuries.
Rockstar North Explosion Reportedly Caused By a “Boiler”
The Herald claims that the damage at Rockstar North was caused by a “explosion in the boiler room.” After being on the scene for more than two hours after the initial call, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has finally departed after determining that the area is safe.
A spokesperson for the service stated, “We were alerted at 5.02 am on Monday, 19 January to attend an incident on Holyrood Road, Edinburgh. Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters worked to secure structural damage at a commercial building. There were no reported casualties, and crews left the scene at 9.21 am.”

The best-selling Grand Theft Auto series is mostly developed by Rockstar North, which is presently working on GTA 6. We’re still awaiting confirmation of the explosion’s impact and size, and we’ll be updating this post as things go.
