In a flashback scene from the One Piece series, the moms are always destined to die soon. In the flashbacks, Bell-mère, Vinsmoke Sora, Banchina, and numerous more beloved mother figures had left the planet much earlier. The author always finds a way to get rid of mothers in the most heartbreaking way because, to him, they are the opposite of adventure. One of the most kind people we encountered in the Elbaf arc is Ida, the mother of Hajrudin and Loki. But in One Piece chapter 1168, her character’s worst fate—which we had always feared—came to pass.

Because Ida lacked the ancestry of the old giants, the relatives of Estrid, the late queen of Elbaf, did not want her to succeed her. Additionally, these degenerates wanted to take all of the Elbaf royal family’s wealth and belongings for themselves. As a result, they went so far as to poison Ida without her knowledge. When Loki discovered this harsh reality, he attacked his family for driving his mother to the verge of death in the preceding chapter.
As a result, Loki was seen imprisoned for his actions in One Piece chapter 1168. Unfortunately, Ida has already passed at this point, as we first saw her grave before Oda gave us a glimpse of her final moments. The ergot poisoning affected Ida’s body severely, and she became bedridden in her final days.
In her final moments, Ida got to talk with her lover, Harald, about his ideals, their marriage, which should have happened but didn’t, and finally about their sons, Hajrudin and Loki. These are all the things that kept Ida moving forward in life, but not anymore. As King Harald expressed his dream of traveling the world together, Ida replied that she was looking forward to it, but she slowly succumbed to the effects of ergot poisoning.
What King Harald was witnessing was unbelievable. As the king had intended, Ida passed away before she could legally wed Harald. Ida was the one who positively altered Harald’s vision, but she was denied the opportunity to live in the new Elbaf, so it’s a tragic conclusion for such a remarkable woman.
