Adi Shankar’s imagination has no bounds. At first, the man received a lot of attention for creating Castlevania, which spanned from 2017 to 2021. And now, with Devil May Cry, he is raised fans’ hopes for his future ventures. Within a few hours of its premiere, the anime captivated millions of hearts with its tough characters, dialogue, and 2000s mood. While every episode of Devil May Cry was spectacular, the concluding moments were different.
The White Rabbit Had a Great Fall

The White Rabbit is the ultimate enemy in Netflix’s Devil May Cry. He is not a big character in video games, but Adi Shankar made him one for the 2025 reboot project. And I am delighted he showed us the awesome manga-inspired villain. That is because he made the story more interesting for both us and the primary protagonist.
White Rabbit wanted a homeland for the demons of Makai, also known as hell, where they could live peacefully. The Demon world was full of toxins, and no one, including the demons, could live there. So, he wanted to merge the human and demon realms so that the latter could survive. The ambition of the White Rabbit led him to a war against humans and the Darkcom.
White Rabbit is determined to kill her, but Dante distracts him, and the two engage in a duel. The former is aware that Dante will not spare his life this time, so he falls into the river to protect himself. However, it is not the end of his story; he returns and consumes a demon. Following that scenario, he turns into a terrible monster, which is stabbed by Dante in the last seconds of the episode.
Mary Betrays Dante
Following the demise of the White Rabbit, Dante seeks a collaboration with Mary. He believes the Lady is good enough to be his partner in crime. She first expressed interest in the concept, but we were unaware she had other plans for the future. After Dante turns his back on her, Mary injects her with a serum and arrests him when he collapses. She claims that now that she understands what Dante’s blood can accomplish, she can not risk letting him escape with Sparda’s sword.
An Unwanted Guest Arrives
During the confrontation with White Rabbit is demon form, Dante discovers that his brother Vergil is still alive. However, he is unaware that Vergil is now an adult with no connection to humanity. In truth, he has evolved into a demon who is determined to kill the humans. That is what his appearance near the end of the series suggests.
After freeing the demons from the prison and killing the guards, a knight stands in front of them and asks to show Mundus some gratitude, as he is the one to bless them with freedom. After that, the knight turns into Vergil, who says, ‘The sapiens and their armies don’t know what storm they ride into. I am that storm.’
Devil May Cry has laid a foundation for a potential second season that may bring Mundus and Vergil into action against Dante.
