BLACKPINK’s Lisa was among the stars who paid a musical homage to James Bond at the Oscars 2025, becoming the first K-pop talent to perform on the stage. She slayed on the red carpet.

Oscar winner Halle Berry introduced the Oscar tribute to James Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, saying, “I had the great pleasure of working with Barbara and Michael on Die Another Day, and let me tell you, they don’t just produce Bond movies; they were the heart and soul of this franchise for decades.” Every generation has their Bond. The universe turns and evolves, and so does him. But that characteristic blend of danger, flair, and intrigue remains eternal. Tonight, we honor Barbara, Michael, and our favorite spy.”
The tribute to James Bond began with The Substance’s Margaret Qualley dancing to the Bond theme, followed by Lisa with “Live and Let Die,” Doja Cat with “Diamonds Are Forever,” and RAYE with “Skyfall.

Fans praised her performance as ‘inspiring’. “The way she commanded the stage; her stage presence!! Lisa, I’ve always believed in you. “You always have control on stage and make it a great performance,” one fan remarked, while another said, “She defines aura.” One person stated, “Lisa is actually intended for Hollywood Western stages, though. “As if her performance was on fire!”
Oscars’ James Bond tribute
The commemoration follows a shakeup in the film industry: in late February, the longtime producers of the James Bond films gave over creative authority to Amazon MGM. Amazon paid $6.1 billion for MGM Studios in 2022, with the acquisition of one of the film industry’s most beloved and long-running properties serving as a major motivating factor.

Lisa’s performance comes after a string of important events for the singer. In February, she released her first studio album, Alter Ego, which included collaborations with Doja Cat and RAYE, Rosalía, Megan Thee Stallion, and Tayla. She also made her Season 4 debut on The White Lotus last month and made her Coachella debut as a solo performer last year.
This year’s ceremony was hosted by Conan O’Brien at Los Angeles’s Dolby Theatre, and other performers included Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo from Wicked, as well as Queen Latifah.
