Even though Dragon Ball Super isn’t airing right now, mangaka Toyotarou isn’t taking any time off. At a live event in Tokyo, viewers were treated to a fresh illustration of Ultra Instinct Goku and Gohan Beast by Akira Toriyama’s sequel to the Dragon Ball Super manga.
Following the death of his sensei, Akira Toriyama’s protégé Toyotarou formally assumed control of Dragon Ball Super, but the manga’s long-awaited comeback has been a gradual process. Although a special one-shot for Chapter 104 of the Dragon Ball Super manga was released by Toyotarou, the series has now ceased production once more, and there is no indication that the manga will return. However, Toyotarou has continued to depict the most recognizable Dragon Ball characters in their most formidable guises. Toyotarou created a new illustration of Goku and Gohan in their Ultra Instinct and Beast transformations at a meet-and-greet for the Dragon Ball Super Divers arcade game.

Although it isn’t available in America, Dragon Ball Super Divers is so well-liked in Japan that it deserves its first live event tour. The four days of the tour—April 26, May 10, May 11, and May 17—are now well under way. Toyotarou gave a special autograph signing at Tokyo’s AEON Mall Makuhari New City on May 11. Toyotarou gave autographed copies of a previously unseen drawing of Ultra Instinct Goku and Gohan Beast standing back-to-back to customers during this signing event. For fans yearning for the manga’s comeback, the two appear assured and prepared for combat, providing a thrilling precedent.
Toyotarou has been showing both UI Goku and Gohan Beast plenty of attention recently. An epic image of the two Saiyan warriors united by Ultra Ego Vegeta, Rage Super Saiyan Broly, and Orange Piccolo was featured on the previously revealed cover art for Dragon Ball Super Volume 24. Black Frieza was featured on the back cover of Dragon Ball Super Volume 24 by Toyotarou. Fans speculated endlessly that the much awaited Black Frieza Saga would be imminent as a result of this design choice.
In Volume 24, Ultra Instinct Goku and Gohan Beast spar amicably as Goku tries to push the boundaries of his son’s new metamorphosis. As Gohan Beast soon overwhelms him, Goku quickly realizes he got far more than he bargained for. Before the two realize it, Broly, Vegeta, Goten, and Trunks are joining the fray in a full-on Super Saiyan combat royale.
The most recent manga volume is described on Dragon Ball’s official website: The Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO movie’s battles are shown in the SUPER HERO arc, which is now coming to a finish! Additionally, the secret tale of what transpires following the conflict with the Red Ribbon Army will be made public! Dragon Ball Super Volume 24, subtitled “A Legacy Toward the Future,” was published in Japan on April 4th; as of this writing, there was no announced English release date.
