On Saturday, the official website for the television anime adaptation of Ren Eguchi and illustrator Masa’s light novel series Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill (Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hōrō Meshi) released a teaser visual and promotional video for the second season of the show. In addition to the new season’s October premiere on TV Tokyo and its connected channels, the teaser also reveals the new cast and staff.

The pixie dragon Dra-chan, whose voice is provided by Ayumu Murase, joins Mukōda’s party after being enticed by the aroma of his food.
While the majority of the staff is returning for the upcoming season, Nao Ōtsu is joined on character designs by Tsuyoshi Kuwahara (Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather). Chief animation directors Nao Ōtsu and Sara Sakoe are replaced by Shiho Tanaka and Eriko Itō. Assistant director Kenji Takahashi, who directed episodes for Spy×Family and 2025’s The Rose of Versailles, has been promoted. Hisako Akagi is now credited with art supervision, and Tomoki Nagino takes over as art director. As the color key artist, Kana Tanabe takes Chikako Kamata’s place. BAX is credited with overseeing the food. Production desk employee Kodai Kato gets promoted to animation producer. MAPPA continues to operate as the animation production studio.
On January 10, the first anime season debuted exclusively in Japan on Hikari TV and Amazon Prime Video. When the anime premiered in Japan, Crunchyroll streamed it.
In 2016, Eguchi began publishing the books on the “Shosetsuka ni Narō” website. They are currently published in print by Overlap. In Japan, Overlap is also publishing Momo Futaba’s Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hōrō Meshi: Sui no Daibōken spinoff manga and K Akagishi’s manga adaptation.
The manga adaptation by K Akagishi and the light novel series are both being published in English by J-Novel Club.
