Ani-May 2025 Will See the Release of Solo Leveling and 19 Other Anime for Free Streaming

Posted on April 30, 2025May 1, 2025 By Binge NXT No Comments on Ani-May 2025 Will See the Release of Solo Leveling and 19 Other Anime for Free Streaming

Crunchyroll will be offering free streaming of Solo Leveling and other well-known anime titles in May. This month-long free streaming campaign is a part of the company’s annual Ani-May anime festival in May, which also includes other promotions and freebies.

Every May, Crunchyroll, the top streaming service for both new and well-known anime series, hosts a month-long celebration called Ani-May to honor all things anime. In addition to bringing in new and special incentives for members and casual viewers, this Ani-May 2025 will carry on with past benefits, like providing a fresh selection of well-known anime series for free streaming with advertisements. Throughout May, Crunchyroll and its connected retail partners will also release new, high-quality anime products and home media releases.

You can watch Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer, The Apothecary Diaries, and more for free on Crunchyroll in May

Crunchyroll is offering a lot of extravagances this Ani-May, but the new selection of free, ad-supported anime is perhaps the event’s main draw. Among the 20 free titles available this year, Solo Leveling, the popular anime version of the highly regarded manhwa by South Korean author Chugong, is the main attraction. Solo Leveling was the streamer’s most-watched new anime of 2024, according to Crunchyroll, which confirmed this in late February. The popularity of the sitcom soared even further with the airing of Season 2, which had a few internet-breaking events, as one could expect.

This May, Solo Leveling Season 1 and other well-known anime series like Jujutsu Kaisen, The Apothecary Diaries, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will be accessible for free with advertisements. The full list of Crunchyroll’s free, ad-supported titles for May 2025 is shown below:

  • Black Clover Seasons 1-4
  • Chainsaw Man
  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Complete Series
  • Fruits Basket Seasons 1-3 (2019)

  • The Apothecary Diaries Season 1
  • Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Seasons 1-2
  • Tokyo Ghoul Seasons 1-3

Numerous high-profile anime events are also planned for Ani-May 2025. In honor of the Jujutsu Kaisen x Funko Pop collection, Funko Pop will hold an autograph signing with the English voice cast of Jujutsu Kaisen on May 3, 2025. Additional information may be found on the official Funko Pop website and social media accounts.

Clothing companies such as Uniqlo and Hot Topic will run exclusive sales on their anime clothing and collector items both online and in-store. An exclusive Spy x Family special pin will be given away with qualifying purchases at select Best Buy locations as part of their special offers between Ani-May 2025. This May, Crunchyroll and Planet Hollywood will work together to create an anime-themed dining experience. Additionally, from May 1–8, 2025, Bananya will bring its popular line of cute anime skins back to Fall Guys. Lastly, Crunchyroll is getting ready for the theatrical re-release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie: Mugen Train in conjunction with the first epic release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Season 1, Part 2 is one of the many eagerly awaited home media releases that the Crunchyroll Store is getting ready for in May and beyond. On May 15, pre-orders for the Limited Edition Blu-ray set will open. Additionally, the first season of Paranoia Agent and Goblin Slayer will be released on Blu-ray (SteelBook covers), which will be exclusively sold on the Crunchyroll Store on April 30.

“Anime is a way of life, not just a form of entertainment. We are offering fans a range of ways to show off their anime love during Ani-May in celebration of the genre’s phenomenal growth, including brand-new clothing, collectibles, global activations, game partnerships, and new series available for free streaming on Crunchyroll,” said Anna Songco Adamian, Vice President, Global Consumer Products. “Crunchyroll will have fans covered this Ani-May, whether they choose to stream their favorite series or show off their fandom.”
