Wednesday season 2

Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 Just been knocked off of the top spot on the streaming charts

Posted on August 17, 2025 By Binge NXT

Wednesday’s streaming domination didn’t last very long, and a surprising new documentary series has officially knocked the Jenna Ortega-led series from the top spot in the United States.

FlixPatrol reports that Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser, which arrived on Netflix Aug. 15, has dethroned Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 and taken the top spot on the platform’s Top 10 TV Shows as of Aug. 17. New episodes of Wednesday arrived on Netflix on Aug. 6, and a final batch is set to premiere on Sept. 3 and conclude the season. Despite being dethroned in the United States, Wednesday’s global grip on the streaming charts remains strong, and the series is #1 in 73 countries worldwide, making it an international sensation.

The new documentary Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser takes an inside look at the hit reality TV competition – unearthing the good, the bad, and the complicated.’ It features interviews with former contestants, trainers, producers, and health professionals as they explore how the show helped people lose weight, including the support systems it offered and the challenges the reality television series faced during its original run.

It’s likely that Wednesday will be able to reclaim the top spot in the coming weeks, especially as the wait for the second half of Season 2 lessens. New episodes see Wednesday returning to her school, Nevermore Academy, where she hones her psychic abilities and deals with the fact that she’s now seen as a celebrity after saving the school in the previous season. The first batch of episodes debuted to impressive numbers, proving that the series remains popular among Netflix viewers. In the first part of Season 2, Wednesday discovered her psychic abilities, saved her school from a supernatural threat, and became a local celebrity.

At the heart of Wednesday’s Season 2 storyline is a gripping new mystery, with Wednesday’s premonitions revealing the death of her beloved, happy-go-lucky roommate Enid (Emma Myers). The first four episodes see Wednesday working to prevent Enid’s death while also being hunted by a new enemy and crossing paths with some familiar faces, including Season One’s villainous Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan).

Lady Gaga Will Appear in Wednesday Season 2, Part 2

One of Wednesday’s biggest guest stars is set to finally make her debut in the series when the second batch of episodes drops early next month. The highly anticipated appearance of Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary teacher from Nevermore who ‘crosses paths’ with Wednesday, has been a significant talking point among fans.

The exact nature of Wednesday and Rotwood’s relationship remains to be seen. Still, Jenna Ortega has already praised Gaga after the two filmed together. “She’s the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with. It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much,” she said.

Wednesday , Season 2, Part One, is now streaming on Netflix. You can watch it here.
